Most people don’t pay heed to their eye health, while eye care is so important. I am sorry to say that, unfortunately, many people do not recognize its importance, just a few of them are sensible people that take care of their eye health. 

The eyes are one of the most important organs in our body and the main part of our health, as our eyes allow us to see and experience the world around us and without seeing there’s no world, only dark. 

I always take care of my eyes as taking care of eyes can help prevent vision problems and eye diseases, such as cataracts, glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, and dry itchy eyes. I experienced and observed many people, if they care for their eyes it can also help detect and treat eye conditions early before they cause permanent damage to vision.

In this blog post, I want to tell you some ways to take care of your eyes that will keep your eyesight healthy by writing my routine and aspects that I adopt for the health benefits of my eyes.

Second and one of the most enjoyable things I do for my health is, I always protect my eyes from the sun by wearing my favorite sunglasses, and it will block UV rays and can help protect my eyes from the harmful effects of the sun. UV rays from the sun can damage your eyes and increase your risk of developing cataracts and other eye diseases. Wear sunglasses that block UV rays and a hat to shade your eyes when you`re outside.  and I enjoy wearing different sunglasses that suit my outfit so I look perfectly awesome. You can also use protective eyewear like me, if you work with hazardous materials or play sports, wear protective eyewear to prevent eye injuries it will really work.

This is also my favorite hobby as I am a kind of a foodie person so I take a healthy diet as eating a diet rich in fruits and vegetables can help protect my eyes from age-related macular degeneration and other eye conditions. When you follow a healthy and balanced diet that`s rich in fruits and vegetables can help keep your eyes healthy. I take foods that high in vitamins C and E, zinc, and omega-3 fatty acids so they may help reduce the risk of age-related macular degeneration so you can also try to eat such foods.

It Is Necessary To Take Breaks from Screen Time

One of the most important things that most people don’t aware of it about taking breaks from screen time. Yes, nowadays we all are demented for using social media, and staring at a computer or phone screen for extended periods, but do you ever think of how harmful it can be for our eyesight? 

It can cause eye strain and other vision problems, unfortunately, we can’t stop spending time on social media as it’s been a necessity of the modern world we live in. So we can’t stop but we can prevent our eyes from long screen time by taking regular breaks from the screen it can help reduce this strain as I do.

Additionally, when you are in front of the screen try to blink your eye more as we tend to blink less during screen use. Do you know that normally, we blink about 17 times a minute, but this often drops to 12-15 times a minute during computer use? Take regular breaks to rest your eyes, and follow the 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look away from your screen and focus on something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.

Researchers have found: “people blink less than half as often when they`re reading, watching, or playing on a screen”. Also, the contrast of text against the background, the glare, and the flickering from digital screens can be hard on your eyes so always try to blink your eyes more and take breaks from the screen.

Smoking can also increase your risk of developing several eye diseases, including cataracts and macular degeneration so try to quit smoking if you want your eye healthy. Quitting smoking can prevent your risk of developing cataracts, macular degeneration, and other eye diseases. 

Most people don’t know, smoking cause uvea, a disease that affects part of the eye Uvea, which is the middle layer of the eye wall. Uveitis is when this layer becomes inflamed (red and swollen). I see many people with red and swollen eyes then I observed 97% of them are chain smokers. Then I researched for knowing about the cause of this disease and found smoking is the cause of red eyes, pain, and vision problems when uvea occurs.

One of the best solutions to keep your eye healthy is, regular eye exams even if you don`t have any vision problems. Yes, it`s important to get regular eye exams to check for potential eye diseases or conditions as I regularly visit for eye exams. My eye doctor always keeps me aware about detect early signs of eye diseases, such as glaucoma, cataracts, and macular degeneration so I take care a lot of care of my eyes.

You can also keep your eye healthy by practicing good hygiene, washing your hands frequently to prevent the spread of infections, and avoiding touching your eyes with your hands can help to keep your eye prevent from many diseases. I am the best at doing this I always practice even this is not wrong if I say I am habituated to practicing good hygiene in my daily routine.
